Burcham:: kiddos + newborn + family

Shannon asked me a few months ago if I could take some photographs for them once little Annelise made her appearance in the world.  Since then, I'd been soo excited for this day.  They are all so stinking cute and I knew it would be nothing but pure joy:

So, once upon a chilly Saturday morning...
Snow was falling,
Christmas music was on the radio,
and just when I thought life couldn't get better...
the time finally came:

Getting to meet the precious Annelise
Seeing the adorable little Aubryn
And catching up on life with David & Shannon

Sais:: Family

This family holds such a special place in my heart.
I spent a few weeks with them in MX at their grandparent's house,
known them for years,
and they continue to be some of the most generous and genuine people I've met.

Phil: the quiet, strong dad
Sulema (Indira): the funny, easy going mom
Hannah: the fearless, sweet girl
Isaac: the imaginative, light of the party boy

Trent:: Senior

We went to one of his favorite places,
a place he's grown up going to:

"Apartment Rock"
It's up in the gorgeous CO mountains, near Rampart Range.

Lots of HUUUGE rocks, stacked on top of each other,
making for a super gorgeous view.

Trent and I had an awesome...
hiking,
climbing,
rock-jumping,
mini road trip adventure.

Sam:: Senior

Oh man, it's time to present:

Okay, let's be honest...this was probably the most fun I've had on a photo shoot yet.
Ironically enough, on the way to the location, Sam and I were talking about how situations where you either:

A. Almost die
    and/or
B. Almost go to jail

make for the best stories.

Haha let's just say...our photo shoot almost got a whole lot more interesting.
But, in the end, we didn't die, nor go to jail; so it was successful.

Sara:: Business Portraits

When you're starting your own business and putting together a new website...

you've gotta have some awesome pictures of yourself!

Sara Beth and I had way too much fun exploring this new location,
laying in the middle of the street (don't worry, we only almost got run over once),
trying in vain to find a pool,
and just enjoying being girly and rockin' the wind-blow-hair look.

I love getting to take pictures of people who aren't afraid of posing.
Doing things a little different.
Going out on a limb and trying new things.
It gets my creative juices flowing...
and that's what makes for good photos.
